Release date: 20/05/2008

Get Up, Get Out and Get radioActive with kellogg’s and RTĖ 2fm Win a free live nationwide broadcast for your community event!  Communities all around the country are being urged to get up, get out and get active this summer by Kellogg’s and RTĖ 2fm. Whether it’s a mini-Olympics, an egg and spoon race, or a sports day Kellogg’s and RTĖ 2fm want to be there and want to share the fun with the nation. Communities nationwide are being invited to enter their event in the competition and be in with a chance to win a free, live, nationwide broadcast from RTĖ 2fm this summer.  Speaking at the launch of the competition, RTĖ 2fm DJ Nikki Hayes said, “As someone who sits in a studio five days a week I know only too well the importance of introducing exercise into my day. We’re going to have lots of fun broadcasting live to the nation from community events throughout the country. We’re looking forward to taking part in the action and sharing the fun with everyone!”  Stephen Twaddell, Managing Director, Kellogg’s said, “We’ve teamed up with RTĖ 2fm as part of our Kellogg’s Let’s Get Active initiative - a community-based programme designed to help people in Ireland get more active and have fun.  Together, we want to offer practical ideas to help everyone achieve a healthy lifestyle - aiming for just 30 minutes of exercise a day.  This is a great chance for the whole country to get involved and celebrate their community activities.” Community based events that encourage people to get active and take place during the month of August 2008 are eligible. Closing date for entries is Friday 20th June 2008.
